Lively started with a real problem in the chemistry: if DHM works in the research, why do commercial products underperform? The answer was bioavailability. So we engineered around it.
The origin
Built from the chemistry up.
DHM's potential as a liver-support supplement is well-established in preclinical literature. What the research doesn't often address is why commercial products consistently underdeliver — and the answer comes down to a single physical constraint: solubility.
Free DHM dissolves at approximately 0.2 mg/mL in water. That low solubility caps how much ever reaches systemic circulation — regardless of what the label says. The founders identified that a proprietary co-solubilizing approach could remove that ceiling.
The result is a formulation that achieves approximately 135 mg/mL aqueous solubility — 675× greater than free DHM. Paired with buccal delivery, which bypasses GI absorption entirely, Lively addresses two of the biggest barriers between an active ingredient and your bloodstream at once.*
A provisional patent application covering the composition, buccal formulation, and method of use was filed based on this work. Clovinol® (Akay Bioactives) was selected as a second active for its documented ALDH-supporting and antioxidant activity — not because it fits a marketing narrative, but because the data supports its inclusion.*
